Job Description

The primary responsibility of a teacher is to provide educational activities that enable students to reach their full potential across various domains. Teachers also help students develop skills for societal contribution.

Instructional Strategies
  • Design, write, and implement lesson plans aligned with the charter’s curriculum, reviewed by the dean of academics
  • Modify lesson plans to accommodate different learning styles
  • Teach according to California Department of Education guidelines, charter policies, and regulations
  • Use appropriate instructional strategies, activities, and materials to meet student needs
  • Utilize data from student assessments to inform instruction
  • Collaborate with special education staff on IEPs to ensure modifications are implemented
  • Coordinate with staff to meet instructional goals
  • Manage teacher aide and volunteer assignments
  • Incorporate technology to enhance learning
Growth and Development
  • Assist students in improving their study habits and methods
  • Develop assessments to evaluate student progress
  • Manage extracurricular activities as assigned
  • Sponsor approved outside activities
  • Model positive behavior and support the charter’s mission
Classroom Management and Organization
  • Prepare the classroom environment to support learning and development
  • Maintain discipline per the student handbook
  • Ensure safety of students, staff, and resources
  • Contribute to selection of instructional materials
Communication
  • Build rapport with parents, students, and staff through conferences and communication
  • Maintain professional relationships with colleagues and community members
  • Communicate information clearly and accurately
Other Responsibilities
  • Engage in professional development
  • Stay compliant with regulations and policies
  • Manage reports and documentation
  • Participate in faculty meetings and committees

Salary: $61,000 - $85,000 per year

Qualifications
  • BA or BS in relevant subject matter
  • California teaching credential or equivalent
  • Highly qualified in core courses as per NCLB requirements
