St. Regis Catholic School is seeking an experienced and qualified elementary teacher for the upper elementary grades. The ideal candidate embodies the principles of the school’s philosophy, supports the mission and vision by promoting the Catholic faith, and demonstrates this faith through personal example. Qualifications:
  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate, K-5 All Subjects
  • Competent in teaching science, Language Arts, and other subjects
  • Strong example of Catholic Christian faith
  • Catechist certification (or willingness to attain certification)
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with students, parents, and staff
Professional Responsibilities Include:
  • Teaching all subjects using the AOD curriculum, state benchmarks, and national standards
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 platform and virtual learning tools
  • Established classroom management techniques
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment
  • Engaging students with best practice strategies and active learning
  • Creating high levels of student engagement and encouraging student-led learning
  • Implementing consistent disciplinary approaches promoting self-direction and confidence
  • Assessing students’ academic and social growth
  • Assisting in curriculum organization and revision
  • Creating detailed lesson plans with differentiated instruction and assessment
  • Integrating technology like iPads, Chromebooks, and online platforms into instruction
  • Using varied assessment tools to monitor understanding and adapt teaching techniques
  • Performing non-instructional duties such as attendance, lunch, recess, and bus duty
  • Communicating regularly with families and establishing clear communication channels
  • Attending staff meetings, in-service, and committee meetings
  • Participating in professional learning communities and maintaining positive faculty relationships
