Position Objective

The job of Teacher (K-12) is to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.

Pay Grade and FLSA Status

PAY GRADE: Certified Salary Schedule

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

Duties & Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
• Develop schemes of work and lesson plans.
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Prepare classroom for class activities.
• Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
• Identify and select instructional resources and methods to meet students’ needs.
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
• Use relevant technology to support instruction.
• Observe and evaluate students’ performance and development.
• Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments.
• Provide feedback on work.
• Encourage and monitor individual student progress.
• Maintain accurate records of students’ progress and development.
• Update records as required by laws and policies.
• Prepare reports on students and activities.
• Manage student behavior by establishing and enforcing rules.
• Maintain discipline according to school policies.
• Apply disciplinary measures when necessary.
• Perform pastoral duties such as student support and counseling.
• Participate in extracurricular activities and meetings.
• Communicate with students, colleagues, and parents about student progress.
• Stay updated with developments in teaching methods and resources.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• Meet professional teaching requirements of the district and state.
• Single subject teaching credential or certification if applicable.
• State certification.
• Relevant teaching experience.
• Knowledge of relevant technology.
• SEI Endorsement required.
