• Salary: Hourly, $15.12 - $20.95, 186-day School Calendar

Job Summary

The school nurse assistant supports division-wide health services by providing care to students and staff, and communicates with parents under the supervision of professional staff.

Requisite Education and Skills

• High School Diploma or GED
• Active CPR/AED/First Aid Certification with hands-on training
• 1-3 years experience working with children in education, healthcare, or child-care settings, or relevant training
• Knowledge of universal precautions, confidentiality, and report compilation
• Role model qualities

Essential Responsibilities

• Comply with school laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
• Assist in daily clinic operations following nurse’s instructions
• Provide care, administer medications, and record keeping as directed
• Support health screenings and manage medical records
• Communicate with parents and professional staff regarding health issues
• Maintain clinic environment and support students with medical needs
• Perform other duties as assigned

Physical and Clearance Requirements

Effective communication, ability to operate office equipment, physical mobility including climbing, stooping, lifting, etc. Clearances required include criminal background check and TB screening.
