2025/2026 School Year

Part-time Custodian (Porter)

Day shift, up to 20 hours per week, hourly, non-exempt.

Livingston Classical Academy offers a classical curriculum that emphasizes foundational principles, personal discipline, and civic virtue, supporting the success of every student.

As a Porter, your core responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining cleanliness of buildings and premises, including walkways, parking lots, and play areas.
• Shoveling, plowing, and salting sidewalks, driveways, and steps as needed.
• Sweeping or vacuuming classrooms daily; dusting furniture.
• Cleaning corridors after school and as needed during the day.
• Unpacking deliveries for the school.
• Disinfecting bathrooms and cleaning sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily.
• Washing windows inside and outside at least twice a year or more if necessary.
• Keeping grounds free of rubbish.
• Maintaining floors in a clean, attractive condition.
• Cleaning chalkboards and marker boards weekly.
• Reporting major repairs or damages to the Principal promptly.
• Keeping an inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Moving furniture or equipment as required.
• Following local laws for trash disposal.
• Collaborating with volunteers to beautify the grounds.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Principal.

Essential Skills and Competencies: While we consider a broad range of backgrounds, the ideal candidate will have:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to demonstrate competence for responsibilities.
• Effective collaboration with school personnel and students.
• Strong record of punctuality.
