Job description

The Stern School of Business invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track, clinical faculty appointment at the level of assistant, associate, or full professor. This school-wide search seeks to recruit candidates with deep industry expertise as well as experience in teaching and curriculum development related to the business of healthcare. Successful candidates will be appointed in one of Stern's six departments: Accounting; Economics; Finance; Management and Organizations; Marketing; and Technology, Operations, and Statistics.

Candidates should demonstrate the ability to teach multiple specialized electives in the healthcare field as well as contribute to the development and planning of Stern's healthcare curriculum. Exceptional candidates should also bring an understanding of the varied players in the healthcare system, including public and private insurers, hospital systems, physicians, patients, pharmaceutical and device manufacturers, regulatory agencies, and others, to share insights with the Stern community and external audiences. Such engagement includes advising students and developing programming through Stern's Healthcare Initiative.

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is:

  1. Clinical Assistant Professor: $100,000 - $160,000
  2. Clinical Associate Professor: $120,000 - $180,000
  3. Clinical Professor: $135,000 - $225,000

This pay range represents base pay only (for 12 months) and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

A candidate for a full-time clinical appointment must present evidence of an outstanding teaching career in academia or a distinguished career as a practitioner. Candidates are required to have a minimum of a Master’s degree, have strong interpersonal and collaborative abilities, and show strong pedagogical skills including classroom performance, curriculum development, and teaching innovation in the areas related to the business of healthcare. The position is expected to begin in September 2025.
