2025-2026 Lower School Science Teacher (Grades 4-5)

The Covenant School, an independent Christian Liberal Arts & Sciences school in Charlottesville, Virginia, is seeking a dedicated and dynamic educator to teach fourth and fifth grade science starting in the 2025-26 school year. Our school, which serves over 750 students from Pre-K through Grade 12, is a gospel-centered community of faith and learning, rooted in the Western Liberal Arts tradition, focused on the formation of the whole person—mind, body, and soul. Our faculty leads with an incarnational approach that seeks to equip and inspire students to live well through service to God and others.

Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will be committed to the holistic formation of children within a Christian Liberal Arts & Sciences curriculum, integrating faith and academic rigor seamlessly into the classroom experience. Candidates must have the ability to inspire students’ love of learning and critical thinking and foster a joy-filled environment in which students encounter the goodness, truth, and beauty of God’s creation.

Qualifications:

  1. 1–2 years of teaching experience (preferred)
  2. Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (required)
  3. Teaching certification
  4. Strong ability to integrate their Christian faith authentically in the context of their teaching
  5. Ability to collaborate across disciplines to provide an integrated approach to learning
