    KIPP NYC Public Schools is a non-profit network of 18 free, public charter schools in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan. We partner with families and communities to create joyful and rigorous schools in pursuit of a more just world. Since 1995, starting with KIPP Academy in the Bronx, our network now includes eight elementary schools, nine middle schools, one high school, and KIPP Forward, supporting students and alumni in their educational and career paths. We serve over 12,000 students and alumni, with a staff of more than 1,000, including 8% alumni.

    Position Overview:

    KIPP NYC seeks teachers who motivate, educate, and develop both academic and character skills, making college prep education relevant now and in the future.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    General responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

    • Planning and implementing a rigorous college preparatory curriculum aligned with Common Core standards.
    • Bringing joy and hope to the classroom.
    • Engaging in continuous professional and personal growth through reflection, feedback, and collaboration.
    • Assessing student progress, communicating results to families and colleagues, and adjusting instruction accordingly.
    • Modeling a “whatever it takes” spirit to ensure student success.
    • Modeling KIPP NYC’s character strengths in all interactions with students, families, and staff.
    • Strong interpersonal skills that foster a collegial environment and embody traits like zest, grit, hope, love, social intelligence, gratitude, and humor.
    • At least two years of teaching experience preferred.
    • New York State teacher certification in the appropriate content area preferred.
    • A passion for working in a mission-driven, team-oriented school culture.
    • A desire to grow as a teacher by joining the KIPP NYC community.
    • Proven success in raising student achievement within KIPP NYC communities.

    KIPP NYC offers a competitive salary ranging from $70,829 to $142,270 annually, based on experience, certification, and tenure within the network. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, generous time off, parental leave, child and elder care, life insurance, disability coverage, sabbaticals, professional development, and tuition reimbursement.
