We are seeking a dedicated High School Environmental Science Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools. The teacher will be responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with team members, and building relationships with families. Responsibilities may vary based on school needs and are outlined by the school leader.
KIPP Jacksonville's vision is to be a high school built on student voice and choice, offering honors, AP classes, and career/technical education options based on student and family interests. The school is located at the McDuff campus, 1440 McDuff Avenue North.
The high school model is evolving as more grades are added, with core content areas including science, history, ELA, and math. Teachers may have a homeroom and teach several classes in their subject area, with elective offerings based on student interest and certification areas.
Compensation is competitive, with a starting salary of $50,000 for first-year lead teachers, along with benefits such as health insurance, disability insurance, a 403(b) retirement plan with a match, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree, relevant Florida Teaching Certification or eligibility, at least one year of teaching experience with high achievement, and a commitment to an inclusive, empowering community. Preferred qualifications include Florida certification in Biology 6-12, Reading Endorsement, ESOL Endorsement, and secondary teaching experience, especially in honors or AP courses.
