Position: 2025-2026 Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) Teacher

Campus:La Porte Elementary

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
  • Valid Texas Teacher's Certificate - Elementary Core (EC-6) and Special Education (EC-12)
  • Alternative Certification Program applicants must have passed content exam(s) and hold an SOE to be eligible for employment

Job Description:

  • Provide students with appropriate learning activities, structureand experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, physical, social and emotional growth
  • Prepare lessons that reflect strategies designed specifically for the academic, social and behavioral needs of students
  • Work cooperatively with general education teachers toadjust behavioral approachesas needed for students to access the curriculum
  • Provide direct instruction to support self-discipline and transition to the general education classroom with support from theECSE teacher or paraprofessional
  • Maintain open communication with campus administrators and district special programs staff
  • Other duties required by campus/district supervisors reflective of district policies and procedures

Salary:

  • $61,000 for beginning teacher with "0" years experience.
  • $1,000 Master's Degree addenda
  • Additional $1,000 Doctorate Degree addenda
  • $3,000 Stipend -ECSE Teacher

Pay Grade: Certified Instructional,10 Duty Months

ACP Candidates must attach a Statement of Eligibility (SOE).

The District contributes $400/month to the cost of employee-only health insurance, which is $175/month greater than the state required amount of $225/month.
