Job description

The Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO) believes in the transformational power of work, and our vision is that anyone with a criminal record who wants to work has the preparation and support needed to find a job and to stay connected to the labor force. VISTA Members at CEO will support national efforts seeking to change the status quo for individuals returning home from incarceration. Central VISTA Members will support full-time staff in spreading awareness of fair chance hiring, creating media pitches to better connect with media partners, and providing spaces for our participants to tell their story in their own words. Through this access, this VISTA will help to alleviate poverty by creating awareness for the cause and highlighting our participants for potential employers.

Start date: This position will remain open until filled and has the opportunity to start in 5/2025, but may begin at a later time.

Member Duties : The Communications VISTA role will support communications and relevant community engagement efforts for the entire organization. Responsibilities include: conducting research on media literacy, best practices for similarly-sized organizations, and SEO; disseminating media literacy resources; and supporting strategies to engage site-specific media needs.
