POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides a safe, well-supervised program, offering homework assistance, academic enrichment, and recreational and social activities to students in after school programs throughout the District. Under general supervision, serves as Activity Leader to support the Campus Kids After School Program (CKids). This position reports to the Site Coordinator of the Campus Kids After School Program.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists in operating a high quality school-age care program that is operated in a fiscally responsible manner. Maintains positive relationships with all stakeholders.
Implements a variety of academic-based enrichment and recreational activities for students. Coordinates activities to coincide with the daily time schedule as assigned by the Site Coordinator. Participates in staff development sessions and workshops. Maintains visual supervision of students and remains in the program area during assigned hours. Maintains daily student attendance reports for assigned students.
Maintains behavior management of students. Assists with homework where needed.
Documents and notifies Site Coordinator of any accidents, illnesses, and/or disciplinary problems. Implements appropriate safety procedures for inclement weather, fire, accidents, and other adverse situations.
All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or GED required.
Experience working with school aged children preferred.
Prior experience working with school-age care programs or child care setting preferred.
Minimal independent judgment is necessary and makes general recommendations to Supervisor.
May require some contact with internal personnel to discuss issues of importance.
Requires minimal contact with external personnel to discuss issues of importance.
Requires excellent written and verbal skills.
Applies, recommends, and implements concepts to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of District.
Normal classroom setting in a school.
School-based assignment.
Light duty - intermittently standing, stooping or walking. Occasional sitting.
Moderate lifting or carrying of up to 50 lbs.
