Description

As a Catholic, independent school for 6th, 7th, & 8th grade girls, we seek educators who are familiar with and supportive of the educational and spiritual philosophy and mission of a Catholic School. Candidates should be able to collaborate with colleagues and students to promote interdisciplinary instruction in a diverse and nurturing environment.

We are looking for an experienced Academic Counselor who is passionate and open to interdisciplinary collaboration. This full-time position involves responsibilities in both counseling and teaching across multiple grade levels.

All IH faculty and support staff participate in extracurricular activities and are committed to the education and empowerment of young women.

Responsibilities
  • Promote student academic and social success by working cooperatively with students, parents, faculty, and staff.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and students to promote interdisciplinary instruction across all grade levels.
  • Meet with students individually multiple times a year to develop academic goals.
  • Conduct small group counseling sessions.
  • Design and deliver classroom lessons and parent information nights addressing social, emotional, and academic needs.
  • Teach classes as needed to enhance the curriculum.
Requirements
  • Prior middle school teaching and/or counseling experience.
  • California Multiple or Single Subject Teaching Credential and/or Pupil Personnel Services Credential preferred.
  • Resume reflecting educational and professional background.
