Breakthrough Public Schools (BPS) is seeking Instructional Aides for the 2024-25 school year. Roles and Responsibilities of the Instructional Aide

• Assist scholars with instructional and non-instructional tasks as assigned by the teacher
• Support 1:1 aides assigned to individual students
• Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of scholars at all times
• Support the lead teacher with activities, lesson implementation, and classroom organization
• Attend weekly team meetings
• Familiarize with state Special Education regulations and review IEPs with the teacher or IEP team
• Assist with non-instructional duties as required

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree preferred
• Excellent communication skills
• Current Educational Aide Permit or qualification to obtain one through the Ohio Department of Education

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Work typically occurs in an office setting with moderate noise, involving sitting, repetitive motions, and exposure to fluorescent lighting.
