2024-2025 IISD Swimming Instructor - Part Time

Join to apply for the 2024-2025 IISD Swimming Instructor - Part Time role at Irving ISD.

Salary: $17/hr for noncertified, $25/hr for certified TEA educators.
Applicants should list all aquatics experience and certifications in their resume or intent letter.

Job Responsibilities
  • Instruct all swim lesson participants in the Swim Safe program.
  • Maintain a high level of safety in the classroom.
  • Work scheduled hours, including beginning and ending classes on time, and remaining after class for questions or cleanup.
  • Instruct and evaluate students participating in the Swim Safe program.
  • Submit progress reports, skill sheets, and attendance on time.
  • Attend mandatory orientation, meetings, and training sessions.
  • Act immediately and appropriately in emergencies to ensure safety.
  • Present a professional appearance and attitude, maintaining high instructional standards.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of swim lesson instruction and ability to demonstrate skills.
  • Ability to use teaching aids such as kickboards, diving rings, lifejackets, etc.
  • Ability to work independently with energy and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to positively interact with all swimmers, including those fearful of water.
  • Previous aquatic experience preferred.
  • American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification preferred but not required.

Morning and Afternoon Sessions at Northlake Aquatics Center, 5001 N MacArthur, Irving, TX 75038.
