The Springfield, Missouri Public School District is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Head Coach.
The Springfield School District is Missouri’s largest public school district and has built a reputation of academic excellence based on the outstanding performance of our students and schools. About 25,000 students attend 36 elementary schools, an intermediate school, 9 middle schools, 5 high schools, and a variety of alternative education and choice programs.
The job of Head Coach is done for the purpose of assisting in designing and implementing the athletic program for the assigned sport, in accordance with applicable rules and regulations; providing supervision of other coaching personnel; supervising students during all aspects of the program; using sound instructional techniques; serving as a positive role model; and acting as a liaison between the school, community, and other organizations.
Performs other duties as assigned to ensure effective operation.
Requires knowledge of math, technical information, and applicable laws and policies. Skills include multitasking, first aid, organizing, and communication. Ability to schedule activities, work with diverse groups, and problem solve. Flexibility and leadership are essential, along with the ability to travel and work extended hours.
Works under limited supervision with significant impact on services.
Related experience with increasing responsibility required.
Satisfactory background clearance required.
Includes lifting, carrying, climbing, and standing; performed under temperature extremes and risk of injury.
