Base pay range: $65,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr

Position Overview

Broome Street Academy Charter High School is accepting applications for teachers in Algebra I & Algebra II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and Statistics for the 2023-2024 school year. We seek passionate educators committed to student achievement and professional growth.

About Broome Street Academy

Located in SoHo, BSA is a tuition-free public charter high school serving students from all five boroughs. We focus on providing a rigorous, equitable, and holistic education, emphasizing academic excellence, trauma-informed practices, and student voice. Our partnership with The Door allows us to meet diverse student needs comprehensively.

Responsibilities

• Teach up to five classes or equivalent responsibilities.
• Serve as an advisor to a small group of students.
• Develop and implement standards-aligned lessons and units.
• Differentiate instruction for all learners, including ELL and IEP students.
• Prepare students for assessments like Regents, NWEA, PSAT, SAT, AP, etc.
• Ensure student progress aligns with SUNY Accountability Plan goals.
• Maintain accurate attendance and grade records.
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional development.
• Communicate regularly with parents/caregivers.
• Create a safe, welcoming, and well-managed classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant content area; Master’s preferred.
• NYS Teaching Certification preferred.
• Strong content expertise demonstrated through coursework or certification.
• Experience with special education and trauma-informed practices is a plus.
• Effective lesson planning, classroom management, and assessment skills.
• Personable, collaborative, and committed to diversity and inclusion.

Additional Information
