IU Health is seeking a Part-Time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Psychiatric Physician Assistant to join our Virtual Care Behavioral Health team!

This position provides virtual consults to 15+ emergency departments, inpatient units, and primary care offices throughout the state of Indiana.

Position Details:

  • Full-Time, Days
    • 5-8 hour shifts/week
    • 8:00am-5:00pm
    • No weekends, holidays, or call
  • Expected patient volume: 100/week
  • 20% inpatient work, 80% outpatient work
  • Team includes 1 physician and 7 advanced practice providers
  • Ability to work remotely from home

Qualifications:

  • PMHNP-BC or PA with psychiatric certification and strong psychiatric background required
  • At least one year of psychiatric APP experience required

Job Description/Key Responsibilities:

  • This position provides virtual consults to 15+ emergency departments, inpatient units, Urgent Care Centers, and primary care offices throughout Indiana.
  • Patients range in age from young children to geriatric populations.
  • Primary focus will be crisis assessment, including dispositioning patients presenting with suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, suicide attempts, acute psychosis, and substance abuse treatment. Medication management, treatment recommendations, capacity evaluations, and triage are also key components.
  • The candidate must be comfortable working independently and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of social workers, nurses, and other care team members.
  • The psychiatric APP will manage their clinical load and also staff clinical cases with non-provider team members.
