Are you an experienced Yard Jockey/Hog Cooler Associate looking for a role where your skills and dedication can make a significant impact? Villari Foods is seeking a Yard Jockey to join our team in Warsaw, North Carolina.

At Villari Brothers, the Yard Jockey is responsible for supporting trailer movements, preparing trailers for shipping, cleaning, fueling, and monitoring trailer temperatures.

Job Summary

We seek a versatile Yard Jockey/Hog Cooler Associate to ensure efficient trailer movement, safe livestock handling, and organization of our shipping and cooler areas. The ideal candidate has heavy machinery operation experience, livestock handling skills, and a commitment to safety.

Job Duties

• Move trailers safely using yard trucks.
• Position trailers at docks correctly.
• Perform routine inspections of trucks and trailers.
• Maintain records of trailer locations.
• Coordinate with dispatchers and warehouse staff.
• Follow safety procedures during operations.
• Handle hogs safely within the cooler and onto trailers.
• Organize the cardboard box room.
• Handle gambrels as needed.
• Operate a pallet jack within the facility.
• Manage hog storage in the cooler and trailer loading.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or GED.
• Favorable background check and driving review.
• Ability to stay calm in a fast-paced environment.
• Follow written and oral instructions.
• Operate yard trucks safely.
• Experience as a Yard Jockey or similar role.
• Ability to climb on trucks multiple times daily.
• Effective communication via plant radio.

Preferred Experience

• Heavy machinery or commercial vehicle operation.
• Livestock handling, especially hogs.
• Clean driving record.
• Attention to detail and organization.
• Safety-consciousness.
• Experience with pallet jacks.
