Job DescriptionJob Description1st Shift Welder
Location: Batavia, Illinois
Schedule: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Pay Rate: $23.00/hour
Duties:

• Perform various types of welding (MIG, TIG) on different materials including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols to determine the specifications for the workpieces.
• Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
• Operate and maintain welding equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Assist in the finishing room by performing tasks such as grinding, sanding, polishing.
• Light machining including saw cutting, drilling, and tapping.
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure smooth production processes.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the welding and finishing areas.
• Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment.
• Assist with other tasks as needed in the manufacturing facility.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in welding from a recognized institution .
• Proven experience as a welder in a manufacturing setting.
• Proficient in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Physical ability to lift at least 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and practices in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work well in a team.
• Willingness to learn and assist in the finishing room operations.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry at least 50 pounds.
• Stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
• Perform repetitive tasks with hands and arms.
