Reports to: Tool and Die Supervisor

Job Purpose: Ultimately responsible for minor repair and maintenance of dies, punches, tool steel, and fixtures.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  1. Determine the extent and method of repair to dies by means of careful inspection and accurate measurement.
  2. Perform repair operations to dies.
  3. Set up and operate standard milling machine, lathe, drill press, grinder, and other machine tools as directed under general supervision.
  4. Design and manufacture tools and fixtures for new products.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years verifiable machinist experience and/or Technical Diploma.
  • Ability to perform standard shop computations (math).
  • Ability to read schematics (blueprints), engineering drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Ability to perform basic maintenance of equipment.
  • Working knowledge of CNC programming and operation is a plus.
