Mechanical Dynamics & Analysis (MD&A), a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, is hiring an on-site 1st Shift Thermal/Coating Lead for the Industrial Gas Turbines Division in San Antonio, Texas. The role directs coating strategies, trains staff, and ensures adherence to process instructions and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of thermal spray experience, strong leadership, and the ability to manage day-to-day operations at the San Antonio service center.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of experience in thermal spray operations and the ability to lead, direct, and motivate employees.
• Must be available to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime when required.
• Able to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Direct and guide shift employees in production and coating duties.
• Assist with operation, control, and monitoring of thermal spray processes/equipment per procedures.
• Review job folders to verify masking, cleaning, blasting, and coating steps.
• Ensure pre-coating requirements are completed per job router.
• Record data and sign off on router information.
• Collaborate with shift supervisor and escalate irregularities as needed.
• Review routers to ensure all sign-offs are completed.
• Promote EHS initiatives and quality standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001).
• Perform other related tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Mechanical Dynamics & Analysis (MD&A), a Subsidiary of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), a world-class supplier of power generation maintenance services, repairs, and parts for the utility and industrial sectors, has an immediate opening for an on-site Industrial Gas Turbines Division (IGT) 1st Shift Thermal/Coating Lead in San Antonio, Texas.

We are seeking a dynamic, hardworking, dependable, process- and detail-oriented individual to join a strong team environment. The incumbent will help direct, train, and guide efficient day-to-day coating strategies for the San Antonio, Texas service center.

Essential Job Functions

Duties consist of, but are not limited to, the following.

• Under limited supervision, directs and guides the essential job functions of shift employees while performing similar duties of production.
• Assist with operations, control, and monitoring of thermal spray and related processes/equipment as required and as written in procedures on the shop router, WI, and notes.
• Review the job folder to verify the area of the part to be masked, cleaned, and/or blasted and coated.
• Confirm all pre-coating requirements have been completed according to job router.
• Follow in-process inspection procedures as needed to verify current operation meets customer and technical plan requirements. Competency in the use of basic precision measuring tools.
• Record and sign off on all applicable data defined in the job router.
• Collaborate with the shift supervisor and escalation any unusual problems or irregularities.
• Review routers to ensure all applicable processes have all required employee/operator sign-offs completed.
• Practices and promotes all EHS initiatives, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and good housekeeping.
• Performs other related tasks assigned by the supervisor.
