Job summary

Job description

Located in North Hollywood, CA, Avibank Manufacturing, Inc., a PCC Company, a part of the Engineered Products Group, is among the world's leading manufacturers specializing in the design and production of sophisticated fasteners and multi-component fastening systems and devices, solving difficult engineering and critical performance problems.

Position Summary:

This position is on 1st Shift Monday-Friday.

Building upon level one, with minimal assistance level two machinists operate CNC Swiss (STAR) Turning Centers machine cells as well as standalone machines, which requires basic machine setup including preparing and setting up fixtures and cutting tools, as well as loading and adjusting CNC programs and offsets. Level two machinist competencies include the ability to use more advanced quality inspection tools and techniques such as height and air gauges and bench inspection. The level two machinist will have basic competencies in print reading and common CNC G and M codes. Typically, 2-4 years of experience.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Set-up and Operate CNC SWISS (STAR) Lathe
  • Inspects produced components per blueprint using standard inspection techniques
  • Loads/unloads parts in provided work holding method per setup
  • Replaces broken cutting tools/inserts as needed
  • Deburr parts as required
  • Completes work order documentation in accordance with AS9100 quality standards
  • Light Maintenance Duty of equipment
  • Clean and maintain work area

Mathematical Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of basic computer use. Applicant should be familiar with CNC machining methods.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds
  • Frequently work near heavy machinery or equipment
  • Demands of a manufacturing environment

Required Experience:

2+ year minimum experience in aerospace/automotive machining or related industry. Familiarity with Fanuc, Haas, CELOS controllers, and Bar Feeder Lathes. Preferred certifications in CNC operations.

Level of Education:

High school diploma/GED equivalent required.
