Vertiv is seeking a 1st Shift Supervisor for the HVAC Lab in Columbus, OH. This intermediate level role tests units, analyzes results and adapts tests as needed, under general guidance.

You will set up facilities, support engineers, troubleshoot issues, and lead testing activities. A two-year degree with HVAC experience or more, supervisory experience preferred, and EPA Refrigerant Handling license are expected; strong teamwork and documentation skills are essential.

• Two-year Associate's Degree plus 5 years HVAC experience or 8+ years HVAC experience.
• EPA Universal Refrigerant Handling License.

Job Description Position Summary: The 1st Shift Supervisor - HVAC Lab is an intermediate level position for testing with sufficient experience to handle most assignments. The Technician will perform routine testing and make adaptations to units exercising a limited degree of judgment. This position will be on 1st Shift at Vertiv's Columbus, OH - Dearborn Drive location.

Responsibilities

• Set up test facility and instrumentation in response to general instructions.
• Support and collaborate with engineers in activities to structure and develop system testing capabilities and products.
• Analyze and improve existing processes & designs, as required
• Plan, set up, instrument, and operate products and test facilities.
• Ability to troubleshoot and correct issues.
• Assist in development of solutions or workarounds to resolve defects.
• Work with the engineering and Quality Assurance (QA) teams to fully understand the low-level functions within application software or products, as applicable.
• May assist the QA team in understanding/developing low-level functional and system integration tests.
• Conduct tests, analyze data and make modifications to units being tested within limits of intermediate nature.
• Requires timely completion of assigned tasks.
• Participate in 5S improvement programs

Requirements

• Two-year Associate's Degree + 5 years OR at least 8 years' HVAC directly related experience
• Supervisory experience preferred
• EPA Universal Refrigerant Handling License.
• Brazing, piping, basic wiring skills.
• 208/230/460V 3-phase 60 Hz wiring.
• Instrumentation and low volt wiring.
• General mechanical skills and ability to read mechanical drawings for prototype builds.
• Must have good working knowledge and skills in testing related to temperature, pressure, and electrical property measurement.
• Good planning, organizational, documentation, and communication skills are required.
• Good attendance
• MS Office experience helpful.
• Must be team oriented.
