Job summary

Daifuku is seeking a Sub-Assembly Technician for 1st shift, Monday–Friday, with responsibilities including sub-assembly, inspection, cleaning, and documentation of assemblies. Candidate must read blueprints, measurements on a tape measure, and demonstrate basic math and computer aptitude.

Qualifications

  • Must read exact measurements on a tape measure
  • Must read blueprints and schematics
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of machine assembly experience
  • Able to read and understand assembly drawings

  • Basic mathematical knowledge including decimal & fractional equations
  • Knowledge of standard measurements and tools

Responsibilities

  • Perform sub-assembly based on drawings and supervisor instructions
  • Follow supervisors' instructions for work to be performed
  • Inspect, operate, and test assemblies to verify function and quality
  • Clean and lubricate parts and assemblies
  • Maintain personal tool inventory
  • Keep work area clean and organized
  • Record assembly status in computer system
  • Adhere to safety rules and procedures
  • Work overtime and shift as needed
  • Comply with Daifuku QMS policies and continuous improvement efforts

Position Summary

Completes Sub-Assembly and packaging processes according to established operating procedures and engineering and quality specifications.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to
  • Performing sub-assembly based on drawings and supervisor instructions
  • Following supervisors’ instructions of work to be performed
  • Inspecting, operating, and testing completed assemblies and finished product to verify function, quality, and conformance to specifications
  • Cleaning and lubricating parts and assemblies
  • Maintaining personal tool inventory
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly work area based on quality goals
  • Using a computer to record assembly status
  • Following safety instructions and rules
  • Working overtime and assigned shifts as needed
  • Employees are responsible for complying with all requirements of Daifuku’s QMS policies and procedures.
  • Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • High Schooldiplomaor equivalentpreferred
  • Minimumof 1year ofmachine assemblyexperience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements
  • Ability to read and understand complex assembly drawings and blueprints
  • Basic computer knowledge

ADA Requirements
  • Medium work Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Stooping Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
  • Kneeling Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
  • Crouching Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine
  • Reaching Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

  • Feeling Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
  • Talking Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Hearing Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.
  • Repetitive motions Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Visual Acuity The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
