Job summary

Trinidad Benham Corporation is seeking a 1st shift Spooler Operator in LaGrange, GA. The role involves setting up and operating the spooler line to meet product quality specifications and maintaining machine systems for smooth production.

You will perform hourly quality checks, monitor for jams, and assist with line housekeeping to GMP standards. The position requires lifting up to 50 lbs and standing long shifts with potential busy periods.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a spooler or similar line equipment.
• Ability to perform daily quality checks and adjustments.
• Able to troubleshoot basic machine and quality issues and coordinate with maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Check the order sheet and specifications for each run.
• Load cores and set up initial thread up of the machine.
• Perform quality checks at least hourly and monitor for jams or issues.
• Maintain line cleanliness and GMP standards; remove trash and debris.
• Troubleshoot minor problems and escalate complex issues to maintenance.
• Perform roll preparation and mandrel changes as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Description

Set up and operate the line in order to produce product that meets quality specifications, maintain the machine systems, make necessary adjustments, and troubleshoot common machine/quality problems.

Key Responsibilities

• Check the order sheet to determine order to run and specifications for that order. (Ensure that the right material is being used)
• Load the core hopper with cores.
• Set up and complete initial thread up of machine.
• Perform Quality Check at least once each hour.
• Monitor process, correct jams and other problems that occur.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of line to GMP standards by removing cartons and other trash, removing dust and debris, etc.
• Troubleshoot minor quality and machine problems; communicate more complex problems to maintenance.
• Roll Prep
• Able to remove and replace mandrels.
• Any other duties as requested or required.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Fully Qualified:
• Level IV
• Operates assigned Spooler line at 90 % minimum average level of efficiency.
• Able to change core knives correctly.

Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to stand ten hours (twelve during busy season) and walk up and down steps.
