Peoplelink, LLC is seeking a 1st shift Shipping and Receiving associate in Rome City, IN. The role handles shipping and receiving duties in a light industrial setting, including packaging, labeling, and inventory tasks.

You may operate forklifts and other equipment and must have a valid driver’s license for potential box truck duties. This contract-to-hire position offers a daytime schedule (7a-3:30p) Monday through Friday with a pay range of $18-$20 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Inventory control: maintain accurate records, perform periodic counts and address discrepancies.
• General warehouse duties: maintain clean, safe work area and operate material handling equipment as needed.
• Ability to drive a box truck and perform other tasks as assigned.

Position Overview:
Peoplelink Staffing Solutions has a partnership with a unique client in Rome City, IN. They assemble various parts and components that are developed by other companies. They specialize in light Assembly, wire harness and cable manufacturing.

Job summary:

• 7a-330p, Mon-Fri.
• Pay Range will be $18-$20/hr. range.
• Hours may fluctuate based on what's needed so need to be available from 7am to 5pm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Shipping Duties:
• Prepare and package products for shipment according to company specifications and customer orders.
• Label packages and ensure accurate shipping documentation (e.g., bills of lading, invoices).
• Coordinate with carriers for pick-up and delivery schedules.
• Verify shipping instructions and addresses to avoid errors or delays.
• Maintain inventory of packing materials and reorder when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements for shipping (e.g., hazardous materials, international shipments).
• Receiving Duties:
• Receive incoming shipments, inspect for damages, and verify quantities against purchase orders.
• Unload goods from delivery trucks and check for accuracy.
• Record all incoming shipments in the inventory management system.
• Update inventory records and report discrepancies to the supervisor.
• Organize and store received products in designated areas, ensuring proper stock rotation and accessibility.
• Inventory Control:
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and perform periodic physical counts.
• Assist in the investigation of inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure that products are properly tagged and labeled for easy identification.
• General Warehouse Duties:
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in the warehouse and shipping/receiving areas.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment, adhering to safety guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with other departments, such as sales and production, to ensure seamless operations.
• Other Duties:
• Ability to drive a box truck.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
• Ensure that all shipments are processed in a timely manner to meet company deadlines and customer expectations.Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations.
  • Basic understanding of inventory management and shipping software/systems.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate warehouse equipment safely (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices in warehouse settings.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime if needed.
  • Valid drivers license with a good driving record
  Physical Demands:
