Job summary

International Paper in Dothan, AL is seeking a 1st Shift Forklift Driver to operate forklifts, unload shipments, move goods, and support inventory control. This hourly, full-time role requires overtime and weekend work (10pm–6am).

Responsibilities

• Operates forklift safely and in line with IP's rules and protocols.
• Unloads inbound/outbound shipments and stores products properly.
• Ensures shipments are accurate and undamaged; reports variances.
• Pulls and prepares orders for shipment with exact quantities.
• Moves products from staging to trailers and storage areas.
• Loads/unloads, stacks, and stages materials; performs daily forklift maintenance.
• Keeps records for inventory control and assists with inventories.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
• Performs building/grounds/maintenance duties as needed.
• Completes forms/logs/inventory records; assists with shipping/billing when lead is absent.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

1st Shift Forklift Driver

Pay Rate:

$18.35/hr.

Category/Shift:

Hourly Full-Time OT and Weekends may be required

The Job You Will Perform:

• Operates Forklift in a safe and efficient manner following all IP's safety rules, policies and protocols always.

• Unloads inbound and outbound shipments safely and moves products to storage locations. Efficiently stacks and stores the merchandise in the appropriate areas.

• Ensures inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Reports on quality variances.

• Pulls and prepares orders for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.

• Efficiently moves product from staging/storage areas and production lines into trailers and/or storing/staging areas

• Loads, unloads, moves, stacks, and stages product and materials using a forklift or other power equipment. Maintains the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. Daily, inspects and performs minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment.

• Keeps appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained. Assist in physical inventories.

• Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area.

• Performs or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as required

• Keep appropriate records and reports (complete forms, logs, inventory and records accurately – as required)

• Perform shipping and billing duties when shipping lead is absent.

• Other duties as assigned by managers and/or supervisor/shift leader.

The Skills You Will Bring:

• Must have basic computer skills (data entry, etc.) and be able to perform basic arithmetic including additions, subtractions, multiplications and division.

• Previous forklift experience is required.

• Previous forklift experience in a manufacturing setting of at least two years is preferred.

• Previous forklift experience in handling material without the use of pallets is preferred.

• Must have ability to learn and understand machine line up.

• Must be flexible and willing to work overtime as needed
