The Suter Company Inc. in Sycamore, IL is seeking a sanitation technician to clean and sanitize production equipment, ensuring food safety and regulatory compliance.

You will follow GMPs, document HACCP records, and work a first shift 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. with potential overtime including Saturdays as needed. Starting pay is $22.00 per hour.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and be able to lift heavy objects and work in a wet environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, plus some work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of chemicals, their purpose, and safety precautions is required.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and operate cleaning equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily setup, cleaning, and sanitizing of production equipment.
• Dilute and apply cleaning chemicals while adhering to safety protocols.
• Clean equipment, parts, utensils, and containers between batches.
• Inspect sanitation levels to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Follow safety regulations and PPE requirements.
• Complete required HACCP documentation.

General Summary

This role is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing equipment used in production and processing to ensure food safety and regulatory compliance. The position follows established sanitation procedures, handles cleaning chemicals safely, and completes required documentation. It plays a key role in maintaining hygienic conditions and supporting operational readiness.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform daily setting up, cleaning, and sanitizing equipment for production and processing.
• Dilute cleaning chemicals and follow all safety precautions when using them.
• Clean equipment, parts, utensils, and containers during washdown and between batches.
• Inspect and ensure sanitary conditions have been achieved.
• Follow all safety regulations and PPE requirements.
• Complete required HACCP documentation.

• Must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of different types of chemicals used, their purpose, and interactions with other chemicals.
