Job summary

Daimler Truck North America is seeking personnel for the Byesville, OH area to assist in prepping and assembling S50/60 cylinder heads per the remanufacturing process. The role focuses on visual inspection, precision tool use, and strict adherence to quality and safety standards in a production setting.

As part of a large global network, you’ll contribute to manufacturing of heavy-duty trucks, with on-site training and opportunities for shift differentials and advancement within DTNA’s

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand on concrete for entire shift with repetitive bending, stooping, twisting, reaching and lifting up to 45 pounds.
• Must maintain a clean work area and meet quality standards.
• Cross train on other jobs as required.
• Ability to read and understand Workstation Instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate various hand and air tools to prep and assemble components for heavy-duty trucks.
• Identify components and parts using identification numbers.
• Follow rotation plans and complete training matrices for each position.
• Access company data via computer systems to reference drawings and BOMs.
• Maintain safety, quality, and productivity while improving the work area.

Inside the Role

This position is responsible for the prepping and assembly of S50/60-cylinder heads by way of the established remanufacturing process. Associate is responsible for performing visual inspection of products to meet established quality standards, using various hand & air tools, and installing various parts such as freeze plugs, & pipe plugs, etc.

This position offers:

• Starting pay of $20.70/hr. up to top pay of $29.21/hr.*
• Quarterly gainsharing bonus potential

*additional shift differential for off-shifts

What You Drive at DTNA

• Operating Rottler seat cutting machine, air tools, impact wrenches, multi press horizontal hydraulic presses, dial gauges, and battery-operated torque wrenches.
• Use of pallet jack & hoist
• Properly identify component parts by learning identification numbers
• Adhere to established work rotation plan
• Complete training matrix for each rotation position
• Ability to read and understand Workstation Instructions
• Other tasks and/or duties as requested
• Actively participate in improving work area in terms of safety, quality, attendance, productivity, suggestion activities, housekeeping, and throughput
• Install and assemble components for heavy-duty trucks
• Use computer systems to access company data associated with the assembly process, utilize drawings, bills of materials and specification sheets in both electronic and hard copy
• Operate the following tools and equipment: jigs and fixtures, hoist, air tools, hand tools, grinders

Knowledge You Should Bring

• Must be capable of repetitive hand manipulation, grasping and supporting power tools
• Must be able to stand on concrete for entire shift with repetitive bending, stooping, twisting, reaching and lifting up to 45 pounds.
• Must maintain a clean work area.
• Meet quality standards and implement continuous improvement measures
• Cross train on other jobs as required

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

• Previous experience in a manufacturing (automotive/trucking) environment
• Previous mechanical experience
• High School Diploma / GED is preferred and further college education a plus
