Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, Inc. is seeking a dependable Warehouse Assistant – Receiving in Milwaukee to support inbound product and receiving operations. You will help ensure incoming food is accurately received, scanned, and placed in the correct locations, with a strong emphasis on inventory accuracy and safety.

This full-time, first-shift role offers hands-on warehouse work, collaboration with drivers and donors, and a chance to contribute to hunger relief across eastern Wisconsin.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming food, donations, purchased products, and other materials delivered to the Milwaukee facility.
• Unload trucks safely and efficiently using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
• Verify incoming products against receiving documentation, manifests, bills of lading, and other records.
• Weigh, count, and inspect incoming products to ensure accurate receiving and inventory records.
• Scan and enter received products into the inventory system according to established procedures.
• Ensure products are accurately labeled, identified, and assigned to the correct warehouse locations.
• Inspect incoming food and products for quality, freshness, damage, temperature, food safety, and overall suitability.
• Communicate product discrepancies, damages, quality concerns, or receiving issues to the appropriate team members.
• Move received products from the receiving area to appropriate storage, cooler, freezer, staging, or distribution locations.
• Maintain an organized receiving area and ensure products are processed in a timely manner.
• Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and reconciliation of receiving or inventory discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate cooler and freezer temperature records and support proper product storage conditions.
• Coordinate with drivers, warehouse team members, donors, programs, and other departments to support efficient receiving operations.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment after completing required training and certification.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized receiving docks, warehouse areas, coolers, and freezers.
• Follow all food safety, warehouse safety, OSHA, and organizational policies and procedures.
• Support order fulfillment, product movement, inventory activities, and other warehouse functions as operational needs require.
