Position Summary

The QC Technician inspects products throughout the fabrication process and identifies non-conforming material and parts to ensure finished product meets or exceeds customer specifications. Position Summary

Primary Responsibilities

  • Utilize proper measurement equipment to inspect products produced and determine conformance to specifications.
  • Preparation and submission of part inspection reports.
  • Assist in ensuring plant audit procedures are properly carried out and assigned work schedules are maintained.
  • Conduct Quality Assurance audits to ensure company standards are maintained and product integrity is preserved.
  • Prepare plant audit reports and submit them to Quality Manager.
  • Assist in the resolution of quality problems required.
  • Evaluate and take corrective action, when necessary, with regard to product date coding and trade age management at all levels of product movement.
  • Educate and instruct production personnel in recommended quality control testing and assist in confirming these procedures are being maintained.
  • Operate and program a coordinate measuring machine.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • 4+ years relevant experience in Quality Control/Assurance.
  • Ability to be self-directed and motivated during majority of workday.
  • Ability to prioritize within established guidelines.
  • Ability to work within micro-precision (+-.001) environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to maintain electronic and hard copy file systems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings including GD&T.
  • PC, Windows, MS Office proficiency.

Preferred Skills

  • 2+ year experience with dimensional measurement
  • Experience with operating a 3-dimensional coordinate measuring machine (CMM)
  • Basic understanding of quality systems including Measurement System Analysis.

Environment/Physical Requirements With Or Without Accommodation

This position is carried out in a fabrication shop environment and as such has the following physical work requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 100lbs.
  • Position requires the ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Position may require bending, kneeling, and stooping.
  • Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, and chemicals.
