Job summary

Ravago Americas is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee shift employees, enforce safety and quality standards, and ensure production targets are met. The role includes training staff, managing timecards, and supporting hiring decisions to build a strong team.

You will work a 1st shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, coordinate with management on daily goals, and help drive process improvements across production operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience with Windows-based applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel).
  • Experience with Warehouse Management inventory systems and RF scanners.
  • Strong knowledge of production management processes and systems.
  • Forklift certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and train production shift employees, including cross-training.
  • Enforce Ravago safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain timecards and PTO records for production staff.
  • Guide and evaluate production personnel, supporting performance improvement.
  • Assist in hiring, discharge, transfer and promotions decisions.
  • Ensure daily production schedule is met and optimize capacity.
  • Assist with planning and execution of daily production projects.
  • Update production and packaging reports and related documents.

Job description

Purpose

The Production Supervisor will oversee and manage production shift employees and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and quantity standards.

Shift

6:00 AM - 2:30 PM / 1st Shift

Areas of Responsibility / Tasks

Performance must reflect appropriate level of expertise and achievement of the desired results for the items listed below:

  • General Policy
  • Responsible for training new employees and cross‑training of existing employees on production processes.
  • Must be a safety champion and model/enforce Ravago's safety policies and procedures.
  • Train new employees and cross‑training of the existing employees on current production processes. Record and document employees' training progress.
  • Requires complete understanding of all department equipment and processes.
  • Contribute to decision in hiring, discharge, transfer and promotions.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of employees' timecards and PTO.
  • Responsible for overseeing the production personnel, including the training, performance, guidance and improvement.
  • Contribute to decision in hiring, discharge, transfer, and promotions.
  • Identify talent and assist with building the talent pipeline.
  • Participate in planning and implementation of department goals and objectives.
  • Identify and document personnel achievements to assist the manager in quarterly/annual reviews.
  • Ensure daily production schedule is met. Regulate workflow in accordance with the shift objectives to ensure maximum use of capacity and requirements.
  • Assist with the containment and screening of contaminated products.
  • Submit suggestions for production efficiencies.
  • Assist the Production Manager with the planning and execution of the daily production projects.
  • Assist Management in any physical counts during the year.
  • Updates rail/silo boards after material usage.
  • Responsible for overseeing production to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Must be able to perform the duties of the Production Lead.
  • Assist the Quality Coordinator with the completion of corrective actions.
  • Assist the Quality Coordinator with the update of controlled documents to ensure they reflect the current processes.
  • Supervise the allocation and distribution of materials for the production department.
  • Update and maintain daily production report.
  • Must be able to maintain and update packaging usage reports to reflect precise, accurate counts of the packaging material levels.
  • Assist the production manager with control of overtime hours, vacation request and absenteeism coverage.
  • Monitors the usage of supplies and communicate with the appropriate department when supplies are needed.
  • Perform other duties as required (supervisor must be able to meet all essential functions of the Production Operator I,II,III position and Production Lead).
  • Must be able to lift 55 lbs. repeatedly.
  • All other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications/ Education / Experience / Certifications
  • Education:
  • High school diploma or GED required. An associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred. Extensive relevant experience may be substituted for education requirement.
  • Intermediate level experience with Windows based applications to include Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel.
  • Experience:
  • Intermediate level experience with Warehouse Management inventory systems and RF scanners.
  • Must be able to handle responsibility for the packaging of goods at specified quantity and quality at minimum cost and according to schedule.
  • Strong knowledge of production management processes and systems.
  • Demonstrated understanding of warehouse management, inventory management, product flow and productivity standards.
  • Forklift certification preferred.

Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000 annual salary
