Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Production Lead for the 1st shift in Etna, OH. This permanent role oversees lean-driven, safety-conscious production, equipment operation, and assembly workflows, while coaching staff and driving continuous improvement.

You will monitor quality, train new hires, and coordinate cross-training to ensure staffing flexibility across lines. The position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and hands-on leadership in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in a production or operations environment.
• Hands-on manufacturing experience in a plant or factory setting.
• Ability to interpret and act on quality control reports and performance data.
• Experience supervising or leading teams on a production line or in general labor settings.

Responsibilities

• Review weekly quality control reports and take timely corrective action.
• Participate in weekly quality meetings to set team quality goals.
• Engage in team lead meetings to resolve shop-wide challenges.
• Document and improve new hire training procedures.
• Ensure onboarding schedules and training milestones are met.
• Manage cross-training to maintain staffing flexibility across lines.
• Support improvements in production efficiency, quality and safety.
• Oversee production activities including machine operation and assembly.
• Promote lean manufacturing to reduce waste and improve processes.
• Monitor team performance and provide coaching for growth.
• Collaborate with quality and operations to address issues and implement actions.
• Ensure safe operation of equipment including forklifts and hand tools.
• Maintain clear cross-shift communication for consistent standards.
• Foster safety, accountability, and continuous improvement culture on the floor.
