1st Shift Production Coordinator
The Production Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the Production Supervisors with daily operations. Our 1st Shift team works Monday - Friday 6AM to 230PM.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety: Actively engages with team to promote and support Red Monkey Foods’ safety program and initiatives. Acts as a responsible advocate for regulatory requirements and Employee Safety. Understands the importance of compliance and addresses any and all observations of non-compliance.
  • Operational Oversight: The Production Coordinator is considered a Leadership position and is responsible for assisting Production Supervisors with the following:
  • Ensuring proper set up and adherence to standard operating procedures within assigned area.
  • Making basic operating decisions and providing work directions to area employees.
  • Working with production scheduling to ensure supplies and production plan are well coordinated and downtime is minimized.
  • Assisting operators as needed, may step in and cover or back up operator roles in area.
  • Coordinating with maintenance, quality, or other functions.
  • Ensuring efficient process flow.
  • Coordination of new hire welcoming and training of new team members.
  • Facilitating shift start communication or responsibilities coordination within assigned area.
  • Coaching team members on productivity, quality, cost, SQF and work safety.
  • Tracking line performance metrics.
  • Being an effective resource for process related issues and questions.
  • Assist with process improvements, training materials development or gathering and sharing employee ideas.
  • Cross-trained to perform any position in the area as needed.
  • Escalation of employee concerns, performance, maintenance, safety or quality issues.
  • Performs Training and Coaching for Operators and Leads.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Actively engages in leadership meetings and provides timely feedback to team. Understands organizational hierarchy. Understands available resources and utilizes those resources when appropriate.
  • Leadership: Acts with integrity. Treats others with dignity and respect. Models behavior that is consistent with Red Monkey Foods’ Values. Delivers on commitments and deadlines and holds others accountable for the same. Provides functional leadership to all departments. Takes initiative to make things better and is positive and supportive of process improvement efforts.
  • Communication: Effectively communicates with team members, departments and visitors using sound oral and written communication skills while promoting relationship building.

Experience & Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience (3-5 years) in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role, with a strong record of performance in the areas of attendance, safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs as needed and stand for long periods of time.
  • Available and flexible to work overtime as needed to support the team and the business needs.

  • Excellent training skills and ability to provide direction effectively to others.
  • Very strong administrative and planning skills.
  • Knowledgeable of administrative processes, systems, and procedures for area of responsibility.

  • Remains calm and applies good judgment and decision making and handles emotions of self and others well even under pressure.
  • Ability to effectively troubleshoot a variety of issues (assess a situation, identify the cause, and determine potential solutions).
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications.

  • PREFERRED: Additional technical or vocational training related to the role is preferred.
