Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker is seeking a Pressroom Operator in Willard, Ohio to run automatic presses, perform die changes, and ensure quality through inspection and tool setup. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and adherence to ISO standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will operate feeding and handling equipment, participate in changeovers, and support continuous improvement while maintaining a clean and safe work area.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience with die setting is preferred.
• Must be able to pass certifications for the position.
• Must have a valid lift truck license or complete lift truck training.

Responsibilities

• Operate automatic presses, cranes, lift trucks and related equipment.
• Set up dies and perform changeovers for blanking, progressive and transfer dies.
• Inspect in-process and finished parts for quality.
• Use tools and fixtures to check parts and ensure ISO quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow safety policies.
• Participate in continuous improvement opportunities.

What You’ll Do

As a Pressroom Operator, you’ll be part of our Pressroom team located in Willard, Ohio You’ll get to:

• Complete production activities in the Press Room, including:
• Operation of automatic presses, cranes, lift trucks, and any other auxiliary equipment
• Operation and adjustment of feeding and handling equipment (e.g. coil cradle, coil leveling)
• Complete changeover jobs: setup of blanking dies, progressive dies, and transfer dies in a press
• Visual inspection of both in-process and finished parts
• Use of appropriate tools and fixtures to check parts
• Operate other production equipment, such as manual presses, based on the needs of the department
• Stacking of parts as needed
• Understand and ensure the safe operation of the presses, lift trucks, and other similar equipment
• Abide by all SBD Willard safety policies
• Conduct material handling tasks as needed
• Follow all applicable ISO standards & procedures to ensure quality standards are met
• Recognize concerns and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Perform departmental tasks assigned by the Stamping Supervisor or Group Leader

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience with die setting is preferred
• Ability to pass all certifications required for the position
• Must have a valid lift truck operators license or successfully complete lift truck training
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Willing to work independently or with a group
• Ability to learn to operate an automatic press, set up dies, and changeover jobs
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able read and comprehend instructions
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Able to work overtime as needed
