Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a Maintenance Generalist to perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems in a fresh food manufacturing environment. You will ensure safe, reliable operations, follow OSHA and Tyson policies, and support continuous improvement initiatives across shifts.

• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and work orders.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use CMMS systems.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to safety, quality, and detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime and restore operations quickly.
• Complete corrective and emergency maintenance work as assigned.
• Perform equipment adjustments, part replacements, and repairs to maintain optimal performance.
• Follow work orders and document maintenance activities accurately in the CMMS.
• Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications.
• Conduct inspections to identify potential equipment failures, safety hazards, or maintenance needs.
• Work closely with Production and Sanitation to coordinate maintenance activities.
• Support sanitation and startup processes following maintenance work.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
• Comply with all OSHA, USDA, food safety, and Tyson policies and procedures.
• Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE, and safe work practices at all times.
• Participate in continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
