Job summary

Stoughton Trailers is seeking a paint line worker in Wisconsin to support blasting, priming, top coating, and undercoating trailer components. You will operate unload machines, inspect parts, and maintain accurate records while following safety policies.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and 1–3 months of related experience; basic math and ability to pass a pulmonary function test are required. Overtime may be required to meet production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Remove weld smut, smoke, and loose scale from components; inspect for proper blast.
  • Apply a uniform prime coat at required mil thickness.
  • Check primed components for runs and fixes.
  • Apply a uniform topcoat at required mil thickness.
  • Undercoat trailer components as needed.
  • Operate unload machines and log component numbers in the computer.
  • Wipe down trailer to remove over spray and undercoat overlaps.
  • Visually inspect paint and undercoating.
  • Perform tasks safely, efficiently, and per company policy.
  • Contribute to team to produce quality product.
  • Maintain good attendance and irregular overtime as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Blasting/Blowing-off Process: Remove all weld smut, smoke, and loose scale from component; remove all steel blast grit from component; inspect component for proper blast.
  • Priming Process: Apply a uniform coat of prime at a required mil thickness.
  • Check primed components prior to being top coated; fix excess runs, sags, etc.
  • Top Coating Process: Apply a uniform layer of topcoat at a required mil thickness.
  • Undercoat trailer components as needed.
  • Operate unload machines; inspect components and repair if necessary; enter component number into computer.
  • Wipe down entire trailer with solvents to remove over spray, overlaps on undercoat, etc.
  • Visually inspect paint and undercoating.
  • Perform all assigned tasks in a safe, efficient, timely, accurate and highly productive manner according to company policy.
  • Contribute to the team effort to produce a quality product.
  • Attend scheduled work hours on a regular and timely basis. Maintain good attendance.
  • Ability to work mandatory overtime. Other duties may be assigned by the company.
