Job summary

Staffing Support Specialists is seeking a Painter A for a manufacturing environment in Wisconsin. The role involves adjusting powder coating equipment, ensuring painting specifications are met, and maintaining equipment and safety procedures.

Responsibilities include load handling, cleaning, inspections, and cross-training with other teams. Candidates must be proficient in English, perform basic math, and pass a medical questionnaire. PPE is required and safety protocols must be followed.

Qualifications

  • Must be proficient in the English language and able to perform basic math.
  • Must have manual dexterity and be physically able to perform duties.
  • Must wear PPE and follow safety procedures.
  • Complete medical questionnaire before start.

Responsibilities

  • Adjust powder flow, air flow, and KV settings to optimize paint efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot during paint runs to ensure specifications are met.
  • Clean and maintain equipment (sieve, transfer blocks, hoses, guns).
  • Inspect during process for proper coverage and maintain logs.
  • Assist other departments and cross-train as needed.
  • Load barrels/boxes of powder onto drum cart and hook up to booth.
  • Perform minor maintenance on spray equipment and operate bridge crane when required.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Painter A

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Activities of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

All Painter B activities

Gets work assignment from Supervisor, Lead person or scheduling tool.

Makes proper adjustments to powder paint equipment to provide optimum paint efficiency on each run. Examples:

  • Air flow
  • Powder flow
  • KV settings

Troubleshoots during paint runs to ensure that painting specifications are continually met.

Cleans and maintains equipment to ensure proper functions. Examples:

  • Cleans sieve
  • Cleans transfer blocks
  • Cleans hoses
  • Cleans guns

Inspects during the process to ensure proper coverage. Maintains washer equipment and titration of chemicals. Examples:

  • Cleans filters
  • Cleans nozzles
  • Maintains titration and prepares log sheets. Performs housekeeping duties

Assists other work areas or departments as needed. Assists in cross-training others.

Performs blow-off/removal of shot blasting media.

Performs touch up of blasted parts as needed.

Essential Functions:

Must be able to safely load barrels and boxes of powder onto drum cart and move to booth.

Must be able to safely hook up barrels and boxes of powder to booth. Must be able to safely perform minor maintenance to spray equipment.

Must be able to safely perform physical inspections on painted components.

Must be able to safely use bridge crane or to manually load components onto paint conveyor.

Must be able to safely use pneumatic grinders/sanders to prepare components for paint.

Must be able to safely reach hanging components to vacuum undesirable powder from component surfaces.

Must be able to safely use a manual spray gun to apply powder to components in manual spray booth.

Must be able to safely use compressed air and/or vacuum to remove excess blasting media from parts in the blast touch up room.

Must be able to safely use a blasting wand to hit missed areas on blasted parts in the blast touch up room.

A. Qualifications / Prerequisites:
  1. Proficient in the English Language.
  2. Basic math skills/ability to do this job.
  3. Proven manual dexterity
  4. Skills/ability to do this job.
  5. Complete medical questionnaire
  6. Wear appropriate PPE: Eye, hearing, foot protection with Metatarsal cover and respirator as needed.
  7. Physical ability to do this job.
