Job summary

Labor Network, Inc. in Lake Zurich, IL is seeking a Nursery Attendant for the 1st shift. You will plant and transplant nursery stock, water, weed, prune, and care for plants outdoors.

You will load and unload materials, keep areas clean, and follow supervisor instructions. Transportation to jobs is provided; Spanish speakers welcome.

Qualifications

• Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions

• Ability to do repetitive physical work for a full shift (bending, lifting, standing, walking)
• Reliable attendance and punctuality

Responsibilities

• Plant and transplant nursery stock.
• Cultivate plants, including weeding, potting, and general upkeep.
• Water plants on schedule and to each plant’s needs.
• Prune and trim nursery stock.
• Load and unload plants and materials for orders and deliveries.
• Maintain plant health and quality, and flag problems you notice.
• Keep the nursery clean and organized.
• Other duties as directed by supervisor.

POSITION: Nursery (Agricultural) Attendant

HOURS: 1st SHIFT

• We provide transportation to and from all jobs – free of charge!
• Job available on first-come, first-served basis.

What You’ll Do:

• Plant and transplant nursery stock.
• Cultivate plants, including weeding, potting, and general upkeep.
• Water plants on schedule and to each plant’s needs.
• Prune and trim nursery stock.
• Load and unload plants and materials for orders and deliveries.
• Maintain plant health and quality, and flag problems you notice.
• Keep the nursery clean and organized.
• Other duties as directed by supervisor.

JOB TASKS:

• Move plants, pots, soil, and supplies by hand or with carts and equipment.
• Sort, stage, and tag stock for orders or shipping.
• Spot signs of pests, disease, or stress, and report them.
• Clean up debris and keep rows, walkways, and work areas tidy.
• Work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and other conditions.
• Follow supervisor instructions on techniques, timing, and handling.
• Follow safety practices for tools, lifting, and any chemicals or equipment.
