Job summary

Eaton’s ES GEIS CHD division is seeking a NC/CNC Machine Set-Up & Operate - 1st Shift. The core hours are 6:30am-2:30pm. The hourly rate for this position is $25.89 per hour.

Plan and perform a wide variety of setups and machining operations on all machine shop equipment, including engine lathe and milling machines, with emphasis on precision and safety. Candidates should have a high school diploma and at least two years of NC/CNC setup experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience in NC/CNC setup and operation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform setups and machining operations on engine lathe, vertical turret lathe, radial drill press, spindle drill press, shaper, surface grinder, horizontal and vertical milling machines.
• Use machine attachments, select tools, feeds and speeds according to material and finish requirements.
• Square up and layout production runs or special castings for machining operations to close tolerances.
• Work with metals such as steel, iron, brass, bronze and aluminum.
• Layout, machine, fit and assemble jigs and fixtures to facilitate own work.
• Determine operation sequences, compute use of dividing head, angles, tapers and fits.
• Check parts for finish allowance, defects in material or operation.
• Maintain equipment, machines and work area in a clean, safe and orderly condition per 5S.
