Job Description: Welder - Freeport, Illinois

Our customer in Freeport, Illinois is seeking motivated individuals to join their team. We’re recruiting Welders to work full-time on 1st shift. As a Welder, you will be responsible for setting up and operating welding machines, interpreting blueprints, welding various materials like aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel, and ensuring that all products meet quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities of the Welder:

1. Set up and operate MIG and TIG welding machines based on job requirements and specifications.
2. Read and interpret blueprints and prints to determine welding requirements.
3. Weld materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel.
4. Calculate and convert decimals to fractions, and use tools like calipers, tape measures, and angle gauges.
5. Set up weld cells for production runs and ensure efficient operations.
6. Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety standards and promoting safe practices.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Ability to read blueprints and work instructions accurately.
• Basic math and measurement skills required.
• Ability to lift 35-50 lbs frequently and stand for long periods.
• Minimum 1 year of welding or similar experience.
• Steel-toed boots are required for safety.
• Ability to work in a continuous improvement environment and maintain high quality and efficiency standards.

Compensation and Benefits:

Pay rate: $15-$20/hour

Work Schedule:

1st shift, Monday - Friday, 6:00 am – 2:00 pm, with possible overtime on Saturdays.
