Job DescriptionJob Description1st Shift MIG WelderLocation - Gastonia Pay-$15-$17 DOEMonday-Friday

Sets up and operates welding machines to perform welding of metal products. Operator should be able to make adjustments to machine and adjust set ups per the work instructions for each item.
The Machine Operator is an hourly position subject to overtime pay, and reports to the Welding Lead Person.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Read and interpret blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements2. Must set up machine by following parameters identified on work instructions3. Meet or exceed production standards set to produce parts4. Accurately complete production records5. Control and adjust machine settings as required6. Mount, align, and secure tooling, attachments, and workpieces on machine7. Load and unload machine8. Operate machine with little supervision9. Make manual adjustments to programs as required10. Ensure conformance of product to blueprint specifications, using precision instruments.11. Maintain required housekeeping—including the area around the machine, cleaning machine, tooling, and parts

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs other duties as assigned2. Assist in mandatory annual physical inventory3. Set up peripheral equipment to do secondary operations, such as drilling4. May be assigned to different workstations as production needs require

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Ability to stand for an eight hour time period2. Ability to lift from the floor to chest-height level, up to 50 lbs3. Ability to work in a non climate controlled environment
