Job summary

Daimler Truck North America in Byesville, OH is hiring a stocker/picker for our remanufacturing operation. You will stock and pick engine components, operate forklifts, and enter data to support engine builds on the line.

The position offers starting pay of $19.55/hour up to $27.59/hour, quarterly gainsharing, and shift differential for off shifts. Relocation to other plants may be required; onsite work across multiple plants is possible.

Qualifications

  • Operate forklift and hand tools safely.
  • Use Navision for parts movement and data entry.
  • Read and follow Work Station Instructions.
  • Willing to relocate to other plants as needed.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs and work overtime when required.
  • Maintain clean, safe work area and meet quality standards.

  • Operate hoist, forklift, hand tools safely and efficiently.
  • Use Navision to track parts movement and location.

What You Drive At DTNA
  • Perform physically demanding manufacturing duties including: repetitive processes, moderate to heavy lifting, the use of machinery, and following standardized work procedures
  • Actively participate in improving work area in terms of safety, quality, attendance, productivity, suggestion activities, housekeeping, and throughput
  • Use computer systems to access company data associated with the assembly process, utilize drawings, bills of materials and specification sheets in both electronic and hard copy
  • Ability to operate hand tools and small power tools in a safe and nondestructive manner.
  • Stocking & picking parts
  • Fulfilling parts carts for S60, MBE, MDEG, OCM’s, and HDEP engine builds
  • Use of Navision for parts movement, data entry, and research location of parts and part numbers.
  • Knowledge of computers, tablets, printers, and scanners.
  • Willing to relocate to different plants, buildings, warehouses, etc. when needed.
  • Operate hoist, hand tools, forklift, hand truck, and picker.
  • Properly identify component parts by learning identification numbers
  • Adhere to established work rotation plan
  • Complete training matrix for each rotation position
  • Ability to read and understand Work Station Instructions
  • Other tasks and/or duties as requested
Knowledge You Should Bring
  • Must be capable of repetitive hand manipulation, grasping and supporting power tools
  • Must be able to stand on concrete for entire shift with repetitive bending, stooping, twisting, reaching.
  • Ability to work in a repetitive motion environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs frequently (option to use hoist).
  • Read, understand and complete documentation
  • Willingness to cross‑train throughout the area
  • Ability to collaborate with a team and work independently
  • Ability to work overtime when necessary
  • Established satisfactory attendance record and performance rating
  • Must maintain a clean work area.
  • Meet quality standards and implement continuous improvement measures
  • Cross train on other jobs as required
Exceptional Candidates Might Have
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing (automotive/trucking) environment
  • Previous mechanical experience
  • High School Diploma / GED preferred and further college education a plus
