Job summary

Land Pride, a division of Great Plains Manufacturing, is seeking a 1st Shift Material Handling Supervisor at its Abilene, KS facility. You will supervise material handling, oversee dock movements, maintain inventory accuracy, and ensure safety.

The role requires strong leadership, ability to coordinate across departments, and adherence to safety protocols. Working hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with occasional overtime and opportunities for process improvement-driven impact.

Qualifications

• Previous experience managing and mentoring a team.
• Proficient in AS400 and Excel.
• Strong time management and manufacturing organizational skills.
• Ability to write reports and routine correspondence.
• Experience in safe operation of forklifts.
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Supervise incoming and outgoing movement of raw materials and inventory accuracy.
• Monitor material handling equipment for defects and coordinate repairs.
• Supervise movement of shipments from receiving to storage/work areas.
• Interface with other departments to meet deadlines.
• Operate industrial truck or hoist to move materials.
• Lift heavy objects and keep work area clean.
• Record materials moved on daily production sheets or computer.
• Ensure timely delivery of parts to correct locations.
• Follow all safety regulations and wear protective equipment.
