Compensation: $16.50 - $19.09 / hour

We are currently seeking a qualified individual for the Fart Time Material Handler position, joining our North East, Maryland team!
  • HOURLY RATE: Starting at$16.50/hour - $19.09/hr + shift differential!
  • SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday 6am - 3:30pm; Up to 29 hours per week
  • SHIFT: 1st Shift
    • Additional hours may be required due to business demands.
    • Opportunity for overtime pay; any hours worked over 40

Job Summary:
The primary function of a Material Handler role is to pick cases of product to fulfill customer orders while walking and pulling/pushing a pallet jack. This role does not involve operating powered equipment primarily; however, we require powered equipment certification to be able to operate as needed. Other functions may include but are not limited to: Unloading and loading trailers, pallet put away, pallet replenishment and retrieval, manually loading/stacking cases in trailers/containers, inventory management, housekeeping, and other tasks as assigned by management. This role operates a variety of warehouse equipment in a safe and efficient manner to meet daily objectives.


Key Responsibilities
Key Duties & Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned):
  • Safely operate and maintain warehouse equipment to carry out job duties; adhere to all safety training and Company policies. (e.g. pallet jacks, baler, robot shrink wrapper, electric pallet jacks, sit down and standup forklifts, reach trucks, order pickers, label printers, scan guns, and voice pick equipment).
  • Ensure that all orders are picked, stacked, palletized, wrapped, labeled, and staged per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
  • Utilize necessary technology and equipment (e.g. voice headset, scanner, pallet jack, forklift) to retrieve or put away products in bins.
  • Use proper pallet wrapping techniques to prevent damage to product; inform supervisor of any differences in case quantity, quality, and/or description.
  • Label staged pallets with customer name, sheet #, and other info as specified by management.
  • Maintain a clean work area, including the removal of damaged cases, empty or damaged pallets, food waste, debris, shrink wrap, and cardboard.
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (Hi-Vis Safety vest, safety glasses or prescription glasses, and steel, alloy, or composite toe non-slip footwear).
  • Follow all preferred work methods, safety policies and procedures per company guidelines.
  • Meet required productivity and accuracy standards per location and company guidelines.
  • Follow Safe Quality Food (SQF) code and Good Distribution Practices (GDP’s) to maintain company certification.
  • Ensure that manufacturing data is accurately entered and tracked in the ERP system, including production orders, materials, and finished goods.
  • Update and maintain ERP records to reflect real-time data, including production status, material usage, and equipment maintenance.
  • Enter production and manufacturing data into the ERP system, including raw material consumption, machine usage, labor hours, and quality control data.
  • Track inventory levels in real-time and coordinate with the necessary teams to ensure timely material replenishment.
  • Other ERP responsibilities and other duties as assigned.
Customer Service
  • Brings relevant issues affecting service to the attention of management in a timely fashion.
  • Notify management of any technical issues which may cause delays.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED and familiarity with warehousing concepts (Warehouse management system experience is preferred)
  • Powered Equipment certification will be required. Internal training will be provided. This includes baler, robot shrink wrapper, electric pallet jacks, sit down and standup forklifts, reach trucks, and order pickers).
  • Ability to use a scanner and/or voice headset to perform warehouse functions.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and fill out physical and electronic documents.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision.

Sanitation/Safety
  • Must always wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when performing job duties.
  • Must follow all rules set by the Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP) and Safe Quality Foods (SQF) and attend all related meetings and/or training sessions.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk or hear, and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb. Or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must have vision corrected to 20/30 or better.
