Job Details:

Summary: This position is responsible for implementing an environmental management system to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations at one or more locations. Duties include supervising waste water staff, creating and implementing environmental programs, writing compliance plans, tracking KPIs, developing permit applications, and ensuring timely reporting of compliance reports. Environmental programs include: Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, CERCLA, RCRA, FIFRA, OPA, SDWA, and other regulations. Additional duties involve leading management to ensure compliance, maintaining regulator relationships, and spill response. Under the direction of the Area Environmental Manager, serve as an organizer, facilitator, analyst, and problem-solver to achieve zero environmental exceedances.

Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license
  • MVR required
  • Bachelor's degree in natural science, environmental science, or engineering
  • 4+ years of environmental experience or 2+ years plus successful completion of Tyson's Environmental Trainee program; food industry experience is a plus
  • Must complete 'Industrial Waste Treatment, Volume I and II' courses within 12 months or as per state regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; basic skills in compliance databases such as eCAT and Incident Tracker
  • Excellent communication skills; bilingual is a plus
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to manage projects; influence organization; team collaboration; creative thinking; project management skills
  • Supervisory responsibility for 11 direct reports
  • Travel requirement: 25%
