Job summary

O'Neal Steel in Grand Prairie, TX is seeking a 1st shift Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment. You will evaluate equipment, recommend improvements, and document issues in technical reports.

The role requires hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical systems, troubleshooting PLCs, VFDs, and electrical wiring. Candidates should be able to perform rigging and safe maintenance tasks in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of basic trouble-shooting with ability to assist repairs/diagnostics of processing equipment (CNC, handling systems, presses, saws).
• Maintenance experience with mechanical and/or electrical systems in manufacturing/industrial environments or completion of repair training.
• Ability to perform maintenance on material handling/processing equipment and to fabricate parts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment.
• Evaluate and recommend equipment improvements to improve efficiency, capability and yield.
• Document preventative maintenance issues in technical reports and diagnose equipment failures.
