Job summary

Oji Intertech Inc. is seeking a plant maintenance technician to uphold all maintenance requirements across the facility and support production runs. You will dismantle, repair, clean, and lubricate machinery, install piping and electrical components, and help keep the plant environment safe and compliant.

Candidates should have proven maintenance experience, be able to lift heavy loads, and be available for overtime. Electrical knowledge is a plus, and forklift operation is required.

Qualifications

• Certified forklift operator.

• Overtime availability before/after shifts and on weekends.
• Organized and able to read and follow instructions.
• Proven prior maintenance work experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform all maintenance requirements throughout the plant.
• Dismantles machines or equipment, replaces defective parts, and adjusts feed mechanisms.
• Cleans and lubricates machine parts such as shafts, pulleys, gears, and bearings.
• Replaces or repairs machine belts.
• Removes dust, dirt, grease, and waste material from machines.
• Paints machines or equipment to prevent corrosion.
• Bends and cuts conduit and wire, and drills holes for electrical connections.
• Bends, cuts, and threads pipe, and seals joints.
• Cleans and patch repairs surfaces; prepares walls and ceilings.
• Clears clogged drains and replaces plumbing fixtures.
• Operates welding machine to repair or join metal parts.
• Performs preventative maintenance work orders on schedule.
• Cleans work area, tools, and equipment.
• Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.
• Complies with Environment Health and Safety Rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment related to production operations.
• Perform changeovers and start-up operations.
• Participate in production meetings.

• Bends, cuts, and threads pipe, cuts openings in walls, ceilings, and floors for pipes, and seals pipe joints with sealing compound.
• Cuts out and joins parts for worktables, benches, shelves, and other furnishings.
• Patches or replaces plaster or plaster board and paints walls, ceilings, and trim of building.
• Clears clogged drains and replaces plumbing fixtures.
• Operates welding machine to repair or join metal parts.
• Performs preventative maintenance work orders on a timely basis.
• Cleans work area, tools, and equipment.
• Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.
• Complies with all Environment Health and Safety Rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform routine maintenance on all equipment directly or indirectly related to the production operations.
• Perform changeovers and start-up operations.
• Participate in idea program, collective system design and production meetings.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Certified forklift operator.
• Attention to detail in the workplace.
• Able to lift 25 lbs. (routinely) & 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Available for overtime before and after shifts and weekends.
• Organized and able to read and follow instructions.
• Proven prior maintenance work experience
• Good mathematical and reasoning skills.
• Electrical knowledge preferred.

MACHINERY USED:

Fork trucks, lifts, maintenance repair equipment, hand tools.

CHEMICALS USED:

All chemicals throughout the plant See SDS listings.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Enclosed structure with moderate temperatures ranging from 55 degrees to 100 degrees. Higher temperatures near the oven for short periods of time. Noise levels up to 94db. All work is performed at the normal standing level. Plant environment is clean and safe with a focus on 5S.
