Job summary

Technical Rubber Company (TRC) in Johnstown, Ohio, is seeking entry-level and experienced Machine Operators for the Assembly & Packaging department to operate machines that assemble tire repair components from rubber, fabric, plastics, and adhesives.

Requires a High School diploma or GED, the ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and willingness to work overtime or varying shifts. Forklift certification is a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Operate assembly & packaging machines to produce tire repair components.
  • Ensure materials are loaded and machines fed as required.
  • Verify quality and record labor and production data.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow ISO work instructions.
  • Communicate machine or safety issues to supervisors or maintenance.

1st Shift-Machine Operators-Assembly & Packaging (Transportation)

Position Title: Machine Operators Department: Assembly & Packaging

Reports To: Department Supervisor Non-Exempt Hourly

Pay Range: Pay Range $17.60-$25.00

Shift Hours: Monday through Thursday 5:00AM-3:30PM

Summary:

We are currently looking for both entry level and experienced Machine Operators to work within our Assembly & Packaging department to operate various machines that assemble, various types of tire repairs manufactured from rubber, fabric, plastics, paper, adhesives, and other materials.

Job Requirements/Skills:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to lift carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Ability to stand walk bend and reach for extended periods
  • Basic math and reading skills
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or varying shifts as needed
  • Forklift certification or experience preferred but will train and certify through company safety training if required.
  • Follows all safety guidelines including guarding and other protective device usage
  • Reports all incidents, no matter how minor, so they can be addressed
  • Reads, understands, and follows ISO documents and work instructions
  • Operates machines with manual, computer, or PLC controls
  • Cross trains on equipment as assigned as needed by lead, supervisor, or manager
  • Rotates through breaks and fills in on other trained positions as assigned
  • Keeps machines fed with materials
  • Loads and aligns rolls of materials while keeping accurate inventory of roll weights
  • Changes and adjusts basic machine components like rollers and slitters
  • Verifies Work In Process and finished goods meet quality specifications as they are processed
  • Records labor and production accurately
  • Labels Work In Process and boxes and packages finished products according to quality specifications
  • Keeps machines and work clean and orderly
  • Recommends changes that improve safety, quality, and productivity and participates in product and process improvement events
  • Clearly communicates machine or other problems as encountered. Works with Machine Operators and/or Maintenance as needed
Physical Demands:

Must be able to stand for long periods of time

Frequently exerting or lifting up to 55 lbs. daily. Frequently pushing, pulling and or lifting are required.

Warehouse and Manufacturing environment standard PPE requirements are Safety shoes and safety glasses. Additional
